of the day. But first, the economy grew at an annualized rate of 2% for the first quarter. That's up

from 0.5% growth the previous quarter. But the biggest number is non-residential fixed investment

that jumped at a 10.4% rate, the fastest pace in nearly three years.

And this increase was concentrated in the categories that are most tied to future productivity.

So equipment and intellectual property.

Equipment investment rose at 17.2% while investment in intellectual property,

including software, climbed 13%. After the 6 to 3 ruling

from the Supreme Court that gerrymandering congressional districts for racial reasons and creating
