criticism of the department, chief Terrence Monahan telling the New York Post, his officers

are quote giving their blood to keep the city safe.

More than 100 members of the NYPD have been injured since the rioting began last Thursday.

Cuomo blaming the cops for failing to contain the protest violence.

More than 70% of Americans support deploying the National Guard to stop the looting and destruction.

The poll from morning console shows just 18% do not want the National Guard to intervene.

15 states and Washington DC have deployed troops to help local police regain control.

More than 6,000 people have been arrested in protests nationwide.

Demonstrators also shutting down streets in France, Australia, Great Britain and the Netherlands

to promote so-called social justice.
