Great inflation numbers. Iran war heats up, a boat rescue, and a major movie flop. It's all coming up.

Then Bill's going to be here with your message of the day. But first, the consumer price index is the inflation numbers fell 0.4% last month compared with May. This is

the largest monthly decline since 2020. Economist forecasted a 0.1% monthly decline after

May's 0.5% increase. If you remove gas and food, they call this

the core inflation number. Gas of food are often removed because they fluctuate so much.

If you remove those two things, then inflation was totally flat from the month before,

which is about as good as you could ask for. These numbers are when the Iran war was still going on.

Still seems to be going on. The United States launched new strikes on Iran after President Trump

vowed to reimpose a naval blockade, prompting Tehran to respond with strikes on targets in

countries all around the region. Iran hit two ships in the Strait of Hormuz, killing a crew member, according to the

United Arab Emirates, and a Norwegian tanker was hit by an explosion caused by an unidentified

device off the Omani coast. The United States military said it hit targets across Iran,

quote, to degrade Iran's ability to attack commercial shipping. As believed, America also struck

Iran's only civilian nuclear power plant.
