But first, the CIA drone strike in Afghanistan, killing El Qaeda leader Al Azharahiri.

President Biden confirming, quote, the United States conducted a counterterrorism operation

against a significant target.

Al Azharahiri was killed in the operation.

That terrorist often appeared in threatening videos released after the 9-11 attacks.

He assumed control of El Qaeda in 2011 after the death of Osama bin Laden.

Speaker Nancy Pelosi may stop in Taiwan during her trip in Asia.

Officials there confirming the visit despite warnings from communist China.

Pelosi will be the first house speaker to tour the island in 25 years.

China demanding Ms. Pelosi cancel her Taiwan excursion, said the communist invasion, quote,

the people's liberation army will not sit idly by.

Unquote.

The first person to stand trial in the January 6th capital riot sentenced to seven years

in prison.
