It started with a phone call.

A hot night in summer in Sydney, a number I didn't recognize.

Her name meant nothing.

Would I investigate this story about a man who worked with children, a man who hurt

children, a man who got away with it. Would I investigate the nurse?

When he was last working on Ward 4K at Loneseston General Hospital, He was a 69-year-old pediatric nurse with a reputation

for a tall tail, wandering eyes, and overall a pretty jokey nice personality. He was liked. Even if there were a few eye

rolls from those who thought he was a bit of a relic in terms of the behavior

that very much was not politically correct. He was very much known and at the time I'd say loved by everybody. He was

considered this incredibly moral citizen and always helpful to everybody. He did all these amazing things and I guess his

professional status as a nurse on Ward 4K, a children's ward in

Launceston General Hospital for 18 years until police finally charged him with sexual assault offenses against
