People who watch our videos will doubtless recognise Simon's wild curly hair,

an unbridled passion for all things mathematical.

His videos have been watched millions of times, including epic circles and the legend of question six.

But on the other side of the world in Simon's homeland of Australia, his careers followed an interesting path,

from hanging upside down in trees attempting to be a Jedi, to analys analyzing the statistics of wine sales.

Let me start by asking, Pampeena, where's that from, that name?

Well, that name is from Australia, because that's not the way it's actually pronounced.

Yeah.

I grew up thinking that it was Pampina because that's the Australian English pronunciation.

Yeah.

But it's actually Pampina or in Italian Pampana.

So it's from Italy, but my family came to Italy a couple of centuries ago via Spain.

Right.

So I kind of look more Spanish, but then my mum's southern Italian, which is more Greek.

I'm Mediterranean, basically.

Very Mediterranean.

So, Simon, how do you introduce yourself?

Do you say Pampina?

You pronounce it correctly? I do say Pampina? You pronounce it correctly?

I do say Pampina now.

But there isn't a consensus in my family.
