And as a result of having some time constraints with our guests, we weren't able to give a

proper introduction to them.

So we are going to do that briefly now before we get into the episode itself.

The guests that we have are Professor Nome Chomsky and our friend Vijay Prashad, who together

wrote the forthcoming book, The Withdrawal, Iraq, Libya, Afghanistan, and the fragility of

US power, which is coming out next week from the new press.

The book is talking about the weaknesses of the American state as well as kind of a history

of American imperialism.

It's a fascinating conversation that we have in it actually worked out in a very interesting

way.

We've done them coming on together to talk simultaneously with us, but we actually had

it work out so that Professor Chomsky came on first and Vijay joined us right at the end

of that.

And we had a little bit of a supplemental discussion with Vijay after Professor Chomsky had to leave.

It's a fascinating episode.
