Now, microplastics, they are everywhere. They are in our oceans. They are in the bellies of animals. They are in the

bellies of humans. They are in our air, our rain, and even in our stool.

Microplastics have turned up pretty much everywhere that scientists

have looked for them, but even still the health effects of microplastics on

humans and on animals and most importantly on our planet

those health effects are widely unknown. My guest today is Erica Bernal

Erica is a graduate student of marine biology and she is one of the three

founders of the Plastic Wave Project which is a nonprofit based in New Jersey that

raises awareness about the effects of plastic pollution on our oceans.
