Hello, now it's occurred to me over the last few days

that when we talk about the Omicron wave and the threat to the NHS,

we've been talking about that threat in a sort of, kind of, theoretical way.

And wouldn't it be good to hear from somebody who's sitting there on the front line

waiting to just see what might wash over them?

So we're going to do that now because we've got Dr. Mariam Kushravi,

Hello, Adam. How are you?

Very well, thank you. And I'm so grateful that you're taking some time out

of what is presumably a very busy time for you.

Yes, it is. Yeah, we're used to waxing and waning

of the population with illness, but over the past couple of years,

we've just had to get used to something completely different.

And yeah, here we are again.

A big feeling of deja vu, I have to say.

And also presumably a feeling of just real tiredness.

I mean, as you said, you've been doing this for two years now.

Yeah, I think so. I think there's been differences with every surge.

And I remember the more vividly based on the emotions that I felt

going into first surge and then the second and the third and the fourth.

And I think the emotions change slightly every time you prepare to do it again.
