Summary
At eighteen, curiosity led three friends to explore an abandoned sewer tunnel outside their neighborhood.
One of them had discovered the spot years earlier—deep in the darkness of the tunnel, the walls were covered in upside-down crosses and strange red symbols. A pentagram had been painted across the concrete floor.
Instead of turning around, they decided to try communicating with whatever might be there. Using divining rods, they began asking questions. At first the rods answered simple things. Then they asked something they weren’t sure they wanted the answer to.
And when the rods moved again, the response sent them running out of the tunnel faster than they had ever moved before. That night, long after they were home, the experience didn’t seem to stay behind in the tunnel.
