Summary

A receptionist working alone in a four-story office building starts noticing that she’s not as alone as she thinks. Lights flicker in rooms no one has entered. Hallway shadows move against walls with no windows. Doors open, close, and switch themselves off—or on—without a single living person nearby.

And then there’s the basement. The one spot in the building where even the emergency lights seem to hesitate.

Her coworkers may be working from home, but one former employee might not be done with his rounds. After the passing of their beloved night security guard, the building hasn’t felt the same… and something about the footsteps, the flickering lights, and the black figure moving through the halls makes her wonder if Charles might still be clocked in.

Is it a lingering spirit? Something tied to the building itself? Or just the price of being the last one left after everyone else has gone home?
