As always, I am your good friend and host, Steve Robertson, here on the magnificent Monday edition of the yard.

We got a lot to talk about today.

A couple things on programming note.

We're not going to do a game recap, period.

We don't need to go back and do one.

A lot has happened since then. We're not going to gain anything. We're not going to learn anything. We're not going to do that. We're also not going to do a top 10 list today. We'll get our ad reads in. We've got a lot to talk about as it relates to college football and Mississippi State football. And that's what we're going to focus on. And sure, I've got some things to say about, you know, what's happened up the road

at around our conference.

But today, I think, is an important show.

But if we're going to divert from our regular format to spend a lot of time kind of

taking an assessment of where we are, where we're going, and where we want to be.

And kind of how the trouble up the road at Ole Miss kind of helps us in that endeavor.

We are at a situation now, a very important juncture in the history of Mississippi State football.

As you guys are well aware, it's been nearly three years.

In 11 days, it'll be three years since Mike Leach passed away.

Still feel the personal loss and all that, but guys, that's no longer an excuse for us on the football side of things there's no

book our instruction manual or roadmap to navigate what do you do when your

head football coach dies it's an unprecedented situation but it's behind us and I

can tell you as somebody that knew coach pretty well,

um, you know, um, Mike would not want this. Mike would not want us to be, you know,

three years into this. Number one, still trying to figure it out, but he wouldn't want us to be, you know, three years into this.
