The Senate was working into early hours this morning as it works to pass legislation to end a 40-day government shutdown.

A key procedural vote took place late last night around 9 p.m.

to advance a proposal that would reopen the government.

That measure passed with a 60-40 vote, including support from eight different Democrats who broke from their party's leadership to support the deal.

That proposal would fund military construction, veterans affairs, the Department of Agriculture and Legislative Branch through September 30th of 2026. It includes a stopgate measure to fund the rest of the government through January 30th.

Well, the Thanksgiving travel season is right around the corner. And I know that the, I think

what affects people most oftentimes can be the, you know, the airlines and whether or not the, I was shocked when I went to the airport Friday morning.
