I'm Haley O'Shaughnessy, and I'm Jordan Liggins. Haley, you were just in New York, right?

There's some incredible stories there that we'll save for another time. But I know you saw the billions of basketball courts that are all throughout the city. Yes, I did. It was

almost like the through line between every neighborhood. I remember when I went with my brother and my

sister, we had a little siblings trip to the city

a couple years back. And we just were walking and we walked up to this what we thought was a normal

court, but it was a full AAU youth tournament with the crowd and scoreboard. And it was legit. And I couldn't help but wonder which one of these kids is going to be the next New York

City streetball legend.

Okay, first of all, Carrie.

I just really want her paycheck of what she was making for that one column to live in that amazing New York City apartment.

But anyway, what do you know about New York City streetball culture?

I know what I know from legend, which feels appropriate.

Like, obviously, I've seen the documentaries and the YouTube compilations that are

like mini documentaries. But I know that some of the best players in NBA history came from

those courts. And that is an incredible origin story. But I also know that there are local legends who have transcended past just being New York

legends because we know their names.

So even though they never went to the pros, like they are a prominent part of basketball

history and culture.
