When Kennedy saw what Max had drawn in his sketchbook, she was shocked.

It was a picture of what looks like a huge earthquake striking the town where they both lived.

Kennedy could see broken buildings and burning cars.

It looked like a scene out of a scary movie.

But then it started.

Both Kennedy and Max could feel the ground beneath them beginning to shake.

They jumped up and hugged each other as they both knew exactly what was about to happen.

As they stood outside of their school on the playground, they could see the swing swaying

back and forth, and the slide started to topple over as the ground rumbled and shook violently.

Mrs. Olson yelled across the playground for everyone to crouch down and get away from anything

that could tip over and hurt them.

And as Max and Kennedy tried to do what Mrs. Olson said, they looked up and could see all the other teachers

running out of the school building.

And as the earthquake continued, they could hear car silons going off in the parking lot

as light posts were tipping over and smashing some of the parked cars.

It was hard to understand what was going out over all the noise and the chaos.

Max grabbed Kennedy's hand as they could hear

other kids screaming and crying all around them. And when the shaking finally stopped, man,

the playground was a mess. They walked up to where their classroom window was and they looked

inside as they saw desks and bookshelves toppled over with books and papers

scattered everywhere. Mrs. Olson and all the other teachers found all of their students

on the playground and did a headcount. Is everyone okay? She called out. Her voice shaky.
