The COVID-19 pandemic continues its surge across the country. Daily new cases are consistently

above 150,000 per day. Daily deaths are once again

around 1,500 per day. It continues to affect everything from President Biden's approval rating,

which a slew of recent polls show is the lowest of his presidency now in the mid-40s to the economy. Yesterday's

jobs numbers were a terrible sign of a delta-infused slowdown. We'll have more on that

later in the show. But to make matters worse, the health care systems in several states are at

or beyond their capacity. They're literally turning people away from hospitals. The GOP, especially

in several of the hardest hit states, seems uninterested in fighting this pandemic or making
