Recent events in the Middle East have sparked a public debate about the future of

neo-conservatism as public policy. In today's podcast, Cato Policy

analyst Justin Logan weighs in with his own take on the Neoconservative policy prescription. Cato Policy Well it's tough to tell, it's tough to read the tea leaves without knowing what's being

said inside the administration, but it is clear that the Bush administration's responses to both

the crisis in North Korea and the crisis in Iran seem to indicate that the president

doesn't want to rush into another war. So I think the standard here is

just going to sort of be fool me once shame on you

fool me twice shame on me so I think that he is taking the advice of his

neo-conservative advisors with some skepticism at this point.

Bill Kristle of the Weekly Standard recently called for military action against Iran.

I take it you think this would be bad policy?

Well, it would be a bad policy for a whole host of reasons.

and also looking at the options and prospects for a diplomatic agreement.

But I think it's interesting that Mr. Crystal was on Fox News describing why he believed

that military action against Iran is necessary now.
