This is Rumbel Strip. It's almost the end of August and I keep seeing these pictures on

social media of kids first days back to school and also now that I am the age that I am I keep seeing pictures of kids in their

dorm rooms being dropped off at college by their parents and in about a week and a half I'm going to be one of those.

My son Henry was a camp counselor this summer so I had a lot of practice to get ready for this and

I remember the first day really the silence and the house was so loud in every room just

like it had substance to it. It was like something you could cut through. Anyway, I'm

modeling clearly and yesterday I went back and I listened to an old story I

made called the neighborhood about the kids of Hospital

Hill in Randolph and it made me feel better.

So before August is really good and over I wanted to play to my bike.

Next to Dunkin' Donuts, there's this trail that we know, this secret trail that we know it's between me my brother and

Elijah we know it. That was Lincoln. He's six. He lives in the neighborhood right behind the hospital in Randolph

Vermont. The kids who live here describe it as a place with three purple houses,

a shortcut through the woods down to Duncan Donuts, and pretty close to three graveyards,

except when they say the graveyard, they mean the big one at the end of the street.

The kids in this neighborhood run in twos and threes, and sometimes in one big pack for a game of
