Hello and welcome to the Byron York show, the No Chit Chat podcast.

We like to get right into it.

And what we're going to get into today is something you might have heard a little bit about,

but not a lot about, obviously all sorts of big news going around these days.

But there's something you might call the needless act to, quote, protect marriage.

It's been a big issue on Capitol Hill

even as lots of other things were happening.

So there are a couple of things.

We're talking about something called

The Respect for Marriage Act.

And there are two things to remember about it.

One, it is unnecessary.

And two, it is going to become law.

So, it's a bill. It is currently in the Senate.

It is guaranteed to pass.

There was a vote there a few days ago to overcome a filibuster and it made it over that hurdle

with 62 votes, needed 60 votes to get over, had 62, and the 62 votes were comprised of all 50 Senate Democrats plus 12 a dozen Republicans.
