Summary

Today's word of the day is 'nada' or nil or zero as in the amount of positive tests within the NBA bubble. This is a great sign. It means the bubble will work if the players buy into it. Is the bubble working (0:06)? The NFL got to see how bad negotiations went between MLB and MLBPA which helped them out immensely. On Monday the NFL 'gave in' and offered the players zero preseason games. There could be ramped up testing of up to once a day for two weeks straight. Is everything perfect in the NFL (8:24)? So You Wanna Talk To Samson!? Someone asked me for my thoughts on Dr. Fauci throwing out the first pitch for Opening Day in Washington DC. Not only are the Nationals the defending World Series champions, they're also playing the New York Yankees (16:47). San Francisco Giants manager Gabe Kapler became the first MLB manager kneel during the National Anthem. More history was made in that game as Alyssa Nakken became the first woman to coach on the field during the game. Something else also happened - Kapler said he may not tell his starting pitcher they're starting until gameday... what (27:53)? Review - Married (39:07). It looks like the Toronto Blue Jays will be playing home games in Pittsburgh. I was very wrong about this (42:30). #waittosee --------------------------- Nominate Nothing Personal with David Samson for the People's Choice Podcast Awards: http://podcastawards.com/app/signup/   'Nothing Personal with David Samson' is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Stitcher, Google Podcasts, Castbox, Bullhorn and wherever else you listen to podcasts.   Follow David on Twitter: @DavidPSamson  To watch David on CBS Sports HQ visit https://www.cbssports.com/live/ To hear more from the CBS Sports Podcast Network, visit https://www.cbssports.com/podcasts/ https://www.youtube.com/nothingpersonalwithdavidsamson Learn more about your ad choices. words. Remember love actually when they're going back and forth when he's going to go

0:29.6

to Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Colin is because he wants to find women and he thinks that he'll

0:34.4

do better in Wisconsin than he can in England. And he's speaking to his friend and he says

0:41.1

Nata, yet anyway, zero. Why is that my word of the day? We got big news, ladies and gentlemen.

0:48.4

Today is July 21st in nine days. The National Basketball Association will commence its sprint

0:55.6

to the playoffs within their bubble. And they announced this is the new thing. Every other

1:01.9

day we get a new league with new stats. Thousand people tested top five answers on the board.

1:11.4

How many people tested positive? Point oh, oh, one, two, six, five, nine percent. Four

1:20.3

players a quarter of a staff member. That's what we're getting. But the NBA released something

1:26.6

yesterday that said since July 13th over the course, I guess, of seven days, they took

1:32.7

about 376 tests within the bubble and they had zero zero positive tests. So everyone got

1:41.1

all excited thinking that's it. We've got ourselves a working bubble. And I'm in. I want

1:48.3

to tell you why the NBA is doing this. Along with MLS, which announced zero positive tests

1:56.4

in their bubble. The National Women's Soccer League announced zero positives in their bubble.

2:02.3

MLB has made announcements with the union collectively about how great their positivity rate

2:08.9

is. It's it's diminimous. So does it mean when there are no positive tests in the bubble

2:16.0

that by definition, the bubble is then working? So the way you know whether a bubble is working,

2:23.8

picture when you're, have you ever been with kids and you blow bubbles and you stick the

2:31.4

stick in the can of bubbles? You take it out. It's got that film over the circle at the

2:37.8

end of the stick. And then you blow on it and a bubble comes out and the bubble looks
