Summary

The New Discourses Podcast with James Lindsay, Ep. 203 Among the peculiar anxieties that fueled the Nazi Experiment in Germany in the 1920s and 1930s was the fear that Germany would be relegated to merely economic participation in a broader world order, causing Germans and Germany to subordinate their personalities and race to merely economic concerns. Of course, this anxiety exists again today and motivates the reactive and transformative thinking of the Woke Right, who fears that America is regarded merely as an "economic zone" instead of a nation as a people in a place. Americans, under this formulation, are allegedly reduced to "fungible economic units" who are "replaceable" not just by other Americans but by workers anywhere in the world. Just as the Nazis tied this mentality to "Jewish" Marxist manipulation of "Jewish" capitalism, so too does the Woke Right in our own day. In this fourteenth volume of the Nazi Experiment series of the New Discourses Podcast, host James Lindsay takes us into the bottom third of the fourth chapter of Volume 1 of Hitler's Mein Kampf to show the parallel thinking, parallel rhetoric, and parallel propaganda to what we face in our own day. Join him to understand these ominous parallels. Latest from New Discourses Press! Hey everybody. It's James Lindsay. You're listening to the New Discourses podcast. We're

0:23.7

continuing our Nazi experiment series. And in that, I mostly read through Mind Conf, but also

0:32.0

other Nazi sources so that we can understand what's really going on, and in fact how it relates to what

0:38.4

we're dealing with today.

0:39.8

Just to kind of very briefly summarize the point of the series, I keep saying it again and

0:44.9

again.

0:45.6

The Nazis proposed a solution to problems that the Germans believe that they had in the

0:51.1

interwar period.

0:52.8

That means after World War I before World War II.

0:56.0

The result of this experiment, what I'm calling the Nazi experiment, is World War II and the

1:02.3

Holocaust. And it turns out we're in this weird situation right now where we're having lots of

1:09.4

kind of undeniably Nazi propaganda thrown our way.

1:14.5

Some of it's just straight regurgitated stuff from Mein Kampf, whether it's actual concepts

1:20.1

or whether it's the same kind of arguments Hitler gave, or in some cases,

1:24.3

we're even seeing Hitler's speeches being translated into English and fed to young people as though they're a good thing.

1:30.4

This is alarming, but what's happening is that Hitler made a lot of arguments about these things that the Germans were stressed out about following World War I,

1:39.5

and he was proposing a solution.

1:42.4

The thing is that we have history on our side. We can look back

1:46.2

and we can say, did that solution work? Did their experiment provide a good result? And the answer is no.

1:53.7

The experiment caused World War II. The experiment included the Holocaust, which is six million Jews murdered for being Jews because it was believed

2:04.3

that Jews were racially contaminating and ideologically contaminating and politically

2:10.0

contaminating and economically contaminating Europe overall and Germany in particular.
