Autumn was assigned male at birth, but she sensed from a very young age that something was not right. This is her journey through denial, awakening, and then transitioning both hormonally and surgically. Welcome to Back from the Abyss. I'm Dr. Craig Kiecock.

I got a letter a couple weeks ago that I wanted to read to all of you because I think it brings up a very interesting issue.

So here's how the email starts.

Dear Dr. Hiccock, I'm a huge fan of your podcast and have just finished listening to your most recent episode, The Dark Side of Psychedelics.

0:33.5

regulatory board.

1:26.4

It seems at odds to advocate for ethical and safe boundaries around healing work

1:30.1

while violating a clear legal boundary set by her own licensing board,

1:35.2

a body that exists specifically to protect patients from therapists who violate boundaries.

1:40.1

Thanks again for your incredible podcast.

1:42.6

I appreciate how you take your listeners into dark or psychological terrain

1:47.6

while holding difficult and complex conversations with curiosity and compassion.

1:53.4

Oh, that's a sweet letter. Thank you.

And yeah, the writer brings up such a good issue.
