Welcome to our Rosary meditation.

Let's begin in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Let's call to mind all those we've promised to pray for offering all of our prayer and

sacrifice this Lent for all the names of the loved ones that have been submitted to our prayer list.

I've only got about 30 days of Lent left. Let's make the best of it.

Now when my kids were young I used to love Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado and Fern Lake Trail was one of the best hikes to begin with.

For the first mile of this trail, it's relatively flat

as it runs next to a bubbling mountain river.

But if you didn't know what lies ahead you might become bored after

30 minutes or so thinking that was all there was to it and And you might quit and turn back,

never reaching the amazing waterfalls,

mountain lakes, and worst of all,

not reaching the summit.

On the other hand, if you had a map of the entire national park with clearly marked trails

from experienced hikers who've been to the top, marked out the best way to go, then you'd know that something amazing lies ahead and you'd know the

trail was not just for expert hikers, but that you too could make it to the top if you just

didn't quit. Now the first time I took my kids

there I wanted to begin at Fern Lake Trailhead then go to Odessa Lake and up

up to the summit, then down to Bear Lake and back.
