| 1:01.0 | She hosts a political podcast called Sister-in-law, and is also a guest host on WBUR's on point. |
| 1:08.0 | So, Kimberly, thank you so much for coming on the enemy's list today. I wanted to just catch up because, you know, it's been a pretty slow news week, as you can imagine. |
| 1:17.0 | And I wanted to just get your perspective a little bit on how the news and the media is handling this incredibly consequential moment we're having with the Trump indictments and this looming national political crisis that is wrapped up in it. |
| 1:34.0 | Yeah, I think a lot of us do the best that we can with a lot of information that is coming out quickly that can be confusing. |
| 1:44.0 | But that is also incredibly important. I mean, you mentioned the podcast, Hashtag Sisters-in-law. |
| 1:53.0 | That came together just because I and the other three co-hosts, Barb McQuade, Joyce Fance and Jill Wine Banks, we would talk to each other, you know, just to try to parse what was going on and what it might mean. |
| 2:06.0 | And we thought those conversations would be helpful to be public just so that other people can help understand from the perspective of four people with the legal background and a political background just to put it together and one gratifying thing about that is that we hear from our listeners that things we make it make sense. |
| 2:25.0 | And it's disheartening to see some reporting that since the first indictments dropped that now it's reaching a point where it seems to be noise to a lot of listeners, a lot of audience members, a lot of voters. |
| 2:40.0 | They're not exactly sure what it all is. It's all conflated. They don't know what it all means. And so I think that the media needs to do a better job of focusing on what's important explaining what it means and what it doesn't. |
| 2:53.0 | And trying to filter out the noise is difficult as that job might be. |
| 2:59.0 | You know, I think that's a really good point. As a culture, as a country right now, I think there's so much stuff in the zone all the time there's so many things coming at people from so many different directions. And these cases are, these are like complex multivariate problems. These are not, you know, did the guy run a red light. It's much more in depth than that. |
| 3:17.0 | Is that something that journalism in this country has sort of led its muscles atrophy on a little bit because I feel like we've done a lot of horse race stuff for the last. |
| 3:27.0 | And a lot of what crazy thing did Trump say today for the last eight years. I mean, do you think that that are national media that the press is ready to scale into digging into a story like this that is so consequential and so complicated. |
