Let me tell you what we got for you today on draft day. At the end of the show, Cowboys and Commanders hope to hit big in the draft, right smack in the middle of the show.

And why I believe Caleb Downs, Chris Carter is not safe, but clean.

So before we get to you, I'm going to play a clip from Patricia Train and her guest talking about the giants and what they might do because a lot of the players, quarterback, all those edge rushers, they don't really need them. They just got to me pick between the linebacker, wide receiver, and downs. I'll tell you what I think they're going to do in just a second. I have no problem taking Caleb Downs at five. Delane, maybe I would,

I would be a little bit hesitant with him, but with Downs, I would not have a problem. I understand why some people would. He is not the biggest safety. He's a really good athlete. He's not like a crazy athlete. He's not like Sonny Stiles, like a guy who's going to change or break records or anything like that. But what he is, he's the smartest defender in the class for my money.

I think he's the safest defender in the class, the best tackler, pound for pound of anybody.

And I think a guy that is a culture changer, like Ohio State's program changed when he got there.

All right, Chris, so we ain't going to really just be all nitpicky and go. What's the difference between safe and clean? But tell me how you feel about Caleb Downs and the Giants prospects at five. That's their first pick. I mean, Caleb Downs is a fantastic prospect. I think he's, to me, he's actually ranked as my top, my fifth best player on my big board that I, that I set up for the Pittsburgh Post Gazette.

Caleb Downs, he's the ultimate chess piece that you want in the secondary. He can be moved all around. He helps against the run. He helps us a pass rusher. He helps in man coverage, in zone coverage. he seems like he's a high IQ football player so he can understand how to flow between

different disguises, which is a huge, huge part of NFL defenses that continues to be the case.
