Today, I invite you to reflect with Father Robert Barron on the Word of God, which is the Word on Fire.

Word on Fire Catholic Ministries is a non-for-profit apostolate dedicated to the mission of evangelization that utilizes media

both old and new to share the faith on every continent and facilitate an encounter with Christ

in its church. The efforts of Word on Fire Catholic Ministries engage the culture and bring the transformative power of God's Word

This is an invitation to open our hearts

to the Word on Fire,

which is God's Word of Love for each of us.

When our hearts are open,

the Lord changes and transforms us so that we in turn begin to share the warmth and light of Jesus Christ, who is the Word on Fire.

Peace be with you. Friends, the story of the Transfiguration of Jesus has beguiled Christian poets,

artists, preachers, and mystics for centuries. Take a good look at much of Eastern Christian spirituality,

and you'll find an intense interest in the dynamics of the Transfiguration.

Go to Chart Cathedral in France, to my mind the most beautiful covered space in the world,

and you'll find a surpassingly beautiful

depiction of the transfiguration in stained glass. Look at the writings of Teilhard de Chardin,

20th century Jesuit scientist and mystic, and you'll find a preoccupation with the meaning of this event.

So what is it that is so fascinated

the Christian mind about the Transfiguration?
