John 21. This is the last chapter in the book of John. We've gone through the whole book of John. Aren't you pleased with yourselves? I'm very pleased with us for doing this.

The title of the series has been revealing the mystery.

In other words, this was the what the Lord put on my heart when we began,

is revealing the mystery of Jesus through the eyes of the Apostle John and this last chapter I've entitled the mystery

revealed because that's really what it is is the mystery revealed now I told you last

week that I would show you the verse that shows that it is the other disciple,

always referred to as the other disciple that actually wrote it, and if you read it this week,

hopefully you did, you notice that it's in verse 24. It says this is the disciple who testifies of these things and wrote these things and we know his testimony is true.

And if you backed up a little bit you'd see that Jesus is just giving Peter some bad news.

I'm not going to read the whole chapter, we're just going to focus on one part of it tonight.

But he just gave Peter some bad news.

He said, Peter, you go where you want to go and you do what you

want to do I just want you know the day is coming when you're going to be led by

some men who lead you somewhere where you don't want to go and who do something

to you that you don't want done go and who do something to you that you don't want done and

you're going to stretch out your hand signifying that he would be crucified and

he's telling him in what manner of death he's going to die.

So he gives him some bad news. Peter turns around and

sees the other disciple whom Jesus loved and that's that's what verse 24 referred to but

it's kind of funny because he says Lord what about him? In essence he turns

around and says give him

some bad news too I mean you gave me bad news so give him some bad news too so anyway
