I want to just review it a bit because this is important.

It says, be not drunk with wine wearing his excess or waste, but be filled with the spirit.

And we talked for practically an hour last week about what it means to be filled with the spirit.

And what it means is to be controlled by the spirit.

You, when you were saved, received the Holy Spirit. And what it means is to be controlled by the Spirit. You, when you were saved, received the Holy Spirit.

He was the person who baptized you into a vital relationship with God through Christ. And you've got all the spirit you're ever going to need. The question is, rather, not do you have the spirit, but the question is, will you allow the

spirit to control you? At this point in time, you might say, yeah, yeah, yeah, I've heard that,

I've heard that. Let's move on to the next subject. You know, I'm kind of bored with that because, yeah, I know all that stuff about the spirit controlling me.

What else you've got to say?

Well, let's not move on so quickly.

Because do you let the spirit control your life?

That's the question.

I'm thinking about myself. Do I let the spirit control your life? That's the question. I'm thinking about myself. Do I let the

spirit control my life? Well, if I don't, what am I up here doing, standing in front of you and

exhorting you to follow scripture? Do I let the spirit control my life? Let's see. I'm not going to ask any of you to answer that question,

but I'll answer. I'll answer for myself. Not always. I hate to have to admit that in front of

everybody, but that's the truth. Not always. Now, I'd like for the Spirit to control my life 100% of the time.

And that's a goal, but it's a scary goal because if you say, control me, Lord, then essentially
