You know, folks, we did a lot of coverage on this case, of course, the death of Gene

Hackman and his wife, Betsy Arakawa.

And I think we remained true.

And I'm not trying to be, and I told you so, but to our professionalism

and where the evidence led us. And when others were saying, oh, this was a murder, this was a

home invasion, we said, no, there's no signs of that whatsoever. And there were not. And we

implored everyone to be patient and wait until the scientific evidence came back as to the manner and cause of death. And yesterday, the medical examiner, as well as the police came back with their conclusions, their scientific conclusions on the

death of Gene Hackman and his wife, Betsy Arakawa.

And one of the things we did learn, it was a very sad situation.

the mystery solved, the cause of death of Gene Hackman and his wife Betsy has been revealed.

The actor's wife, Betsy Arecaro, died of a respiratory illness linked to rodents,

according to Mexico officials.

Mr. Hackman had Alzheimer's, which contributed to his death from

heart disease. The actor Gene Hackman died from heart disease about a week after his wife,

Betty Aracawa, and he died in a separate room of their New Mexico home from a virus linked to

rodents, the authority she said
