Down a small, sleepy lane and not far from Upper Dicca, Arlington Reservoir and Halesham

is stunning Mickleham Priory.

This is a 13th century priory that stands on a private island.

This priory is the site of deaths, murders and destruction

and was looted for its ornaments and valuables at the time of King Henry the 8th.

Although it has seen many different eras

and has had many different purposes, one thing is for sure, the ghosts of the past still remain and are as active as ever.
