So the details are very murky and the information that has come out from both governments in Belgrade, Serbia and Pristino Kosovo

are, it's incredibly dubious, but what we know factually is around 3 a.m. probably around 255, 3 o'clock in the morning.

A group of masked gunman showed up in both up armored lorries, flatbed trucks, and then like also pickup trucks and they had improvised armor on them and they

crossed the border so you have road 206 which is a major highway going

from southern Serbia into Kosovo slash Mitahia as the Serbs would call it.

And there's a little village.

Well, so Novi Pazar, it's important. This is on the Serb side, it'll come back up in our conversation, but Novi

Pazar is the major city on the Serb side and then crossing over just about 10 to 15 kilometers over the border, you hit a little

village called Boniska and the village is all connected to a very large Serb Orthodox, Eastern Orthodox monastery, you know, the Greek Orthodox confession but of the Serb Otto Seffelis Church.

So there's a monastery there. Around 3 in the morning Now the number of gunman is also debatable. The Kosovo side said

Pristina says there were 30 gunman. Again, factually, we know that two of these gunman were killed, six were arrested, and it said another, both sides agreed that another six were

being treated in hospital and Novi Pazar on the Serbian side, but the Kosovars say that there were 30 in total, 30

gunmen, the Serbs say that there were fewer than two dozen and that is the Serbian government officially

Anyways regardless of the number a couple of dozen guys showed up in military kit, you know wearing plate carriers, body armor,

balla clavas, you know, masks up and in army fatigues and they had serious kit on them and my initial reporting I said it was just

small arms and light weapons but they had heavy weapons as well and I guess technically the military definition in the

west for a heavy weapon is any weapon that needs to be crude by more than one

soldier so that would include 120 millimeter mortars M2 Browning 50
