Sebil Alita Joanna Neiman's was born on September 27, 1927 in Amsterdam West to a mother who,

for most of her young life, was in and out of the hospital for her chronic illness.

Eventually unable to care for her children, both Sebil and her older brother were sent to the children's home in Zandvert, where they stayed until Nazi Germany occupied the area.

Moving back to live with their father and his new wife, Sibil did not get along with her new stepmother, and at first opportunity, moved out to look for a job and a new living

situation. Coming into contact with an Italian sailor turned fortune teller, who actually turned out

to be a pimp, Sebil entered sex work in Kerkstraught and did so until being investigated by the

police. The close call caused her to pack up and move back to Amsterdam with her father and stepmother

and begin training as a dressmaker.

By 1948, however, Sebil was out of the home again, moved to the Hague, rented a window on 21

double-strat, and began sex work once again.

Known for a time for her black hair, called Black Dolly,

Sebil later bleaching her hair and becoming the blonde dolly,

earned enough money that in 1950 she was able to purchase her own home.
