It's 1942, and the war is raging, but it's raging.

Hari Krishna and Madwal, a British forest ranger, is making the grounds.

The day is sunny, but cold, as Madwal ascends beyond the tree line of the Himalayan

mountains about 5,000 meters above sea level.

Madwal summits a rocky outcropping and takes a bit of rest to eat his lunch.

Before Siddick, he stares down at the alpine lake that is hundreds of feet below him.

Madwall gasps, stumbling backwards in terror.

He spies hundreds, literally hundreds of skeletons, some still clinging to remnants of their flesh and hair.

Bodies lay at the bottom of the partially frozen lake, unmoving and staring back at him.

Terrified, Madwell runs.

He made the best time he could,

crossing some of the most traveling terrain

that the Indian side of the Himalayas have to offer.

And upon reaching his bosses,

he convinced them to mount an expedition to the remote lake.

And to be honest, they had some reservations about the truthfulness of his story,

but they did send some men up there to the lake.

And sure enough, they documented

well over 300 skeletons.

Now, theories to this day abound, but the truth about what landed those skeletons in that

lake and who they were remains a absolute brain scratcher of a mystery to this very day.
