Let's jump in.

On the afternoon of the 29th of July, 2023, Erin Patterson and four of her in-laws

gathered around her dining room table and dug in to the beef Wellington. She'd been preparing

for several hours. Sorry, I thought it was a stew for some reason, but it's a beef Wellington.

The next day, all five of them, reported suffering from severe gastrointestoritis. Gastrointestiritis, hell of a word.

And four of them would be admitted to the hospital.

News soon broke that they were being treated for suspected death cap mushroom poisoning.
