All right. This is going to be talked about a lot here in the next couple of years as the Mavericks look for a new home.

But the big complaint about a new arena when we talked about this 20 years ago, the American Airlines Center,

well, they're going to build it, but nothing's going to get built around it.

We build around it. Now they say, well, going to get built around it. We build around it.

Now they say, well, there's too much around it.

We need a new building.

So yesterday, the Mavericks announced the hiring of Ethan Kasson.

He's 51 years old.

He is their new team president.

And this is just another example that pretty much everything the Mavericks do these days,

in particular on the business side, is about a new arena.

That is why a couple of years ago they brought in Rick Welts,

who is overseeing everything, but mainly he is overseeing the Adelson's desire to build a new

arena for the Mavericks. And now he hires Casson, who has experience in both Minnesota and

San Francisco, Minnesota with the Timberwolves, San Francisco with 49ers, in renovating the Minnesota Arena and in helping

build Levi's Stadium in San Francisco, Santa Clara, I guess, technically.

And so while Casson, they say, will let Welts focus completely on the new arena.

Casson is also being brought in here because of his experience in getting new arenas built.

So it is very clearly their only business focus right now.

In fact, it's the only reason the Adelson's bought the Mavericks is to build it.

They don't care about basketball. I think we've seen over the last year and a half or so,

they're not basketball fans. They don't really know anything about basketball.
