Oh, gosh.

I don't know because I was going to start with how the manager handles this.

And maybe it's influenced by the fake Bruce Bochy,

but I just imagine him pouring a real strong belt of whiskey after a game like last night

because he has seen it in more than half their games this year where they just don't

score runs and then one mistake or a defensive play is magnified. He's seen that game happen

over and over this year.

It is. It's a basically recurring nightmare for this team, and it's stunning. I don't know

really how else to describe it, because any team is going to have a game or two or maybe a bunch, right, handfuls,

where they feel like they had something under control and it slips away at the end

because your bullpen blows something or maybe you just don't get the big hits or whatever.

It happens.

There's zero question.

But for it to happen, this year it seems to me that the oddity is when you do win those games or when you do come up with a big hit or something. And that'd be one thing if you're a young team, a team in a rebuild or whatever. But this was a team that was built to win and more incredibly built to score runs and

and just be a slugging team.
