The NBA season officially tipped off last night, and I have to start this segment with a special emergency report of people saying the darndest things about sports.

Uh-oh.

Because we're at the dinner table, and I've got the game on, and it's the pre-game show on NBC before the Rockets and Thunder tip off.

Pre.

And my wife is watching and then she asks, is this the All-Star game?

Wow.

And I said, no.

No better way to start a season.

This is actually the first game of the season.

All-Star games are typically in the middle of the season or in football at the end.

So an All-Star game is never the first game of a season.

So we laughed about that.

I had one similar.

My wife had some people over last night playing a game,

and I was upstairs watching that game.

And when I came down, they said, what was I watching?

I said, well, it's the NBA's opening night.

They said that everybody play.

So I guess they thought every team played last night.

Oh, I thought they ended every player play.

Everyone gets a chance to bat.

I'm not really sure.
