We had a big night last night at the American Airlines Center, and that's what we're going to talk about here,

because it was the season opener for the Dallas Mavericks.

And by the way, our favorite octogenarian, Jesse the Usher, was working last night's game at the AAC.

He's going to join us at 840.

Tell us what that scene was like last night.

And it was the regular season debut for the first overall player taken in the draft, Cooper Flag.

And very oddly, before the game, word leaks out that Jason Kidd has told reporters

that he will start Cooper Flag at Point Guard.

So he was going with a really big lineup last night of Anthony Davis, PJ

Washington, Derek lively, Cooper Flagg at Point, and Clay Thompson. So who can get to the rack

with that lineup? Of that group? Yeah. None of those five would be known for getting to the rack.

Yeah. And it was, I think it's a really tough position to put him in. And I promise I won't say this again, but you know what thought I had last night? And I'm so glad he's here in Dallas and it works out great for the Mavericks. But I think this sometimes in football with a lot of quarterbacks who come out

after two years, this is a kid who really needs another year of college basketball.

And especially now when you can get paid, that's one thought I had. And then, like, I think

the LeBron James of the world are obviously very few and far

between that can handle this league at 18 years old.

I think he is going to have a lot of moments where this league swallows him whole as an 18-year-old.

He was the second youngest player in the history of the league to start a game last night at 18.

LeBron was the youngest, right? I believe that's right. Yeah. So, and you're right, he's not

LeBron. LeBron was instantly ready to be a star. Yeah. The second he stepped on to the court at 18,

but Cooper flag is not there yet. I'm not going to say based on one game that he needs another year in college or needed
