17th of July 2011. Charlie Brooks looks out at a London street through the tinted window of his wife's executive car.

On the outside he's calm, but inside he's freaking out. His wife Rebecca Brooks has just been arrested.

Charlie knows it's only a matter of time before their home has searched.

He takes out his phone. He scrolls down to the name Mark Hanna. Pressors call.

Mark is Charlie. I need your help.

An hour later, Charlie steps out of the lift into an underground car park.

He clutches a large jiffy bag and a laptop close to his chest. He looks around furtively.

Then, satisfied he's alone, he dumps them next to a wheelie bin.

He races back to the lift, back up to the safety of his flat.

It doesn't feel like a master plan. Not one of the best ones anyway.

Now all he can do is wait. Over the next hours, Charlie thinks back to the events of the last

couple of weeks, the closure of the news of the world, Rupert Murdoch getting a custard pie

in Parliament, Rebecca being forced to resign. It all seems like a bad dream.

Charlie doesn't know how much trouble Rebecca is in. Please determine to protect her at any cost.
