Mandy and my dear friend Melissa. Hi, Melissa. Hi, Mandy. How are you? I'm doing well. How are you?

Doing really good. We had a nice cold day today. I wasn't expecting it for some reason. Yeah, I know. Before we started recording, I was like, are we going to talk about the weather? And I was like, probably so. Because it is cold. It's been cold here in Florida. Well, cold for us. I think being in the 50s is about as cold as I like it during the day. I don't like it. But I mean, if it was any colder, I really would not like it.

Yeah. I rode my bike this morning and I was like, well, if I wear a jacket, I'm going to be, you know, too warm. And then I went and I was like on my way back to my house and I was like, I will never do this again. I was so freaking cold and my hands were cold.

And I walked in my husband's like, you didn't make it very far. I was like, yeah, I'm freezing. I'm absolutely freezing. This was a terrible idea. Yeah, I know. I'm getting tired of the cold weather. Well, you know, January, I feel like is always the worst for us down here. I think a lot of places, January is just the height of winter. Yeah.

So it's just not very night.

I mean, this morning, you know, it was really cloudy and kind of windy.

On top of being in the 40s. So, yeah, it's just been miserable. We're miserable too, just like everybody else up north having it. Yeah, we absolutely know what you're going through. We have two days of this and it'll be back in the 80s and my goodness, we get it, guys.

We really get it. All right. So we'll get right into the episode this week then. This is the second

episode of the new year and this one might just be as wild as the story that we shared last week

for our first episode of the new year. This one also has a lot going on,

and it ends with a man's tragic murder. We've talked about a number of murders that were

fueled by affairs, and in this week's story, the racy details that led to the shooting of a 31-year-old

Air Force captain are riveting and impassioned. We're working on our words. I was going to say, did you get a word of a day calendar? That's really impressive. I didn't, but you said you did. So I felt inspired. Yeah, I felt inspired to use some different words. Yeah. Our friend Carly sent it to me. She's like, you probably got about eight of these. I'm like, no, I was the only one I got. I'm doing really well with it. I'm

excited. See, I'm not even using any of my words. I'm not doing it right. Next week, next week.

So the idea of marrying your high school sweetheart is really romantic and pure, but I think we can

all agree that it's not a terribly common occurrence. It was more common in the 70s and earlier decades when the average

age of a first time bride was just 21 years old. But now less than 2% of all marriages are actually

to a high school sweetheart, which I don't know why. Yeah, I don't know why I thought it would be

higher. I didn't think it would be like the vast majority, but I thought it would be more than 2%.

That's really low.

I would have given it about 10%. Yeah, at least. Didn't you think? Yeah. Huh. Weird.
