Johnny Alberton was shot five times as he entered his home on May 14th

1984. His wife Norma told police that she had come to find the door locked and

when she looked through the window and saw guns she worried and contacted authorities.

Some money and valuables were missing from the home and Johnny Albertan's death was determined to have occurred during a robbery.

In 2015, Leon County Sheriff Kevin Ellis reopened the case and reached out to the oxygen network television show Cold Justice.

Over the course of five weeks, the sheriff worked with producer Johnny Bonds,

a former homicide detective with the Houston Police Department.

Together, they reinterviewed witnesses and reviewed the evidence in the TV show's state ofof-the-art crime lab.
