Summary

Millionaire nursing home operators Helmuth and Hanna Buxbaum were driving back from Toronto airport after picking up their nephew. Seeing a stranded motorist, they pulled over to see if they could help. But it wasn't a stranded motorist.

14-year-old Roy Bucksbaum had flown in from British Columbia to work in the summer at one of the Bucksbaum's nursing homes.

After picking up the teenager in their station wagon, the three of them drove the 200 kilometres

back to Comoka, Ontario, near the city of London.

It was about 7.30 at night and they were travelling on Highway 402 getting closer to home.

From the back of the car, Roy heard his uncle and aunt saying that they'd spotted a blue car pulled over on the side of the road.

so they decided to pull over to see if they could do anything to help the stranded motorists.

After Helmut pulled the car over, a masked gunman approached the car, then placed a 32-caliber gun about an inch from 14-year-old Roy's right eye and pushed his head down on the seat.
