I thought I could get you. I had to do it really, really fast because I knew you would come in. But I thought I'd mix it up this week. Oh my gosh. Did I do it? Wow. You did. Yeah, you absolutely did. I was like, wait, is she doing like some other thing? Did we talk about? She was going to come first this time. No. I push record and said it as quickly as possible to try and get it in there. things. And it's like, no, absolutely not. We totally just trick each other constantly. So it's fun. Yeah, yeah, you definitely got me on that one.

Well, Melissa, I just talked to you like two days ago. So I don't have anything nice to say. I mean,

Because we just talked to each other a couple days ago when we recorded the first part of this story. I'm really excited that we are back to finish it off today. Yeah. So as I just said, this is part two of our story on the murder of 39-year-old mother and wife, Connie DeBate. This is the second part of a two-part series on this. So if you haven't listened to part one yet, you will probably want to go back and do that first. There's a lot to this story. and in the first part, we covered a lot of information related

specifically to the murder itself as well as to the crime scene.

So before we get into the rest of the story this week, we're going to briefly summarize

what we discussed and where we left off.

Connie DeBate was shot to death inside the basement of her home in an alleged home invasion

turned deadly.

Her husband, Rick, was also in the home during the attack, and he allegedly suffered several different

injuries after the intruder, a masked man wearing camouflage, tied him to a chair and used a razor

knife to poke and cut Rick. Strangely, most if not all of the items used in this home invasion and attack were items that

belonged to Rick debate himself that were found inside of his own home, meaning that the intruder

brought nothing with him, including no weapons, and just improvised with Rick's stuff

once he got there. Rick gave multiple interviews to police each time changing his story and adding
