Today's current affairs is about the murder of Celeste Rivas Hernandez.

Celeste was 15 years old.

She lived with her family in Lake Elsinore, California, and attended a local school.

Neighbors described her as quiet, studious, and kind.

For more than a year, her family had been searching for her after she was reported missing in

2004.

They posted flyers, spoke with police,

and, like so many families of missing teens,

waited for any sign she would come home.

On September 8, 2025,

the waiting ended in the worst possible way.

Los Angeles police investigating a foul odor

discovered human remains in the front trunk of an abandoned

black Tesla that had been parked for days on a Hollywood Hill Street and then towed to an impound

lot. The car was registered to the rising singer-songwriter known as David, legal name David

Anthony Burke, a 20-year-old artist on tour at the time.

Because the body was severely decomposed, immediate identification wasn't possible.
