An individual that, though not guilty, gave police valuable information that led straight to the unlikely killer.

age. The youngest daughter of three, and extremely close to her family while growing up in

Italy, Texas, Shelley earned a scholarship to the Art Institute of Dallas after placing fourth in a national competition.

Moving away to start her education, the now 20-year-old was described by those who knew her as shy, incredibly talented,

and deeply interested in the art and style of anime.

By 2009, she was studying media arts and animation, was doing incredibly well at the

institute, and living off campus in an apartment that she shared with friend, Ashley Olvera.

She had also just started a budding romance with a fellow student named Nathan Shuck.

But despite all that she was doing and all the success that she was experiencing in Dallas,

she never lost touch with her beloved family.

Which is why when Sam and Cynthia Nance sat down to call all their daughters on September 10th, 2009,

and Shelley was the only one not to answer,
