On November 20, 2016, Detective Benjamin Marconi was sitting inside of his patrol car just outside the San Antonio Police Department headquarters,

writing up a traffic ticket for a motorist he had just pulled over.

With his mind on his job, Detective Marconi did not notice that another car had pulled up behind him.

The driver then got out, walked up to the patrol car, and shot Detective Marconi in the head.

He then reached through the open window, shot him a second time, and then fled in his car.

It all happened so fast that no one really had any time to react.

And when the dust settled and he was rushed to the hospital, 50-year-old Benjamin Marconi was dead.
