On October 8, 2000, a young girl was killed by individuals who wanted nothing more than to have the

thrill of the kill. So, if you like your coffee hot, but your bones chilled, sit back and start

your day with a morning cup of murder. On October 11, 2000, someone walking near a ravine in East Mahoning Township in Youngstown, Ohio,

made their way along a bicycle trail and stumbled upon a gruesome sight.

Lying there was the body of Shannon Lee Koss, a 12-year-old girl who went missing on October 8th

and had been reported missing by her mother and stepfather the following day.

Shannon born May 12, 1988, was a seventh grader at Volney Rogers Junior High School,

and as part of the school's gifted and talented program,

took courses at the Choffing Career Center.

And her body found at a popular teenage party spot called Zombie Land was covered in stab wounds.

Her throat cut, skin showing signs that whoever did this to her tried to burn her body post-mortem.

According to the police, Shannon had a history of, quote, unruly behavior.

But they were unsure if that had anything to do with her death or her disappearance prior.

And the young girl had been arrested a few times

in the past few months on domestic violence charges, as well as placed under house arrest.
