At around the age of three years old, children enter a stage of their lives that is referred to as heightened imaginative play.

They make up wonderfully elaborate fantasies in which they live out with their toys, often dolls or action figurines.

In most cases, with dolls in particular,

the toys become an integral part of the child's imagination, expression and socialization,

all of which go on to form the foundations of their being later in their lives. For some adults,

the fascination of fantasy can remain present in very healthy ways.

Some people use the dolls for inner child healing, companionship, and evoking nostalgic memories of simpler times, comfort and escape.

Some people repair and restore the dolls as a hobby, creative outlet or financial gain, whilst others simply collect them.

Today's subject had a fascination with dolls, in an entirely different manner.

45-year-old, Mr Antoli Moskman, regarded as a genius in languages and history,

held a macabre secret beneath the veneer of his seemingly ordinary, slightly isolated life. He also had developed intimate, expert level knowledge on funerals and cemeteries across his country.

And, on a cold November day in 2011, police made the chilling discovery of the mummified remains of 26 young girls in his apartment.

All meticulously dressed and lined up as life-sized dolls.
