It reduced a complicated issue to a small idea,

and it very well may have catapulted a reality television star

into the nation's highest office.

The phrase, of course, wasn't just build the wall.

It was also make Mexico pay for it.

Now, in Mexico, this was widely ridiculed.

It was the material of jokes and can you believe this guy dinner conversations.
