This is, as I mentioned, the third major section in Walker Percy's 1961

National Book Award-winning novel The Moviegoer.

Our main character is Binks Bowling, a young man from New Orleans

who fills his day with stockbroking, watching movies, and dalliances with his secretary.

Okay, so I just learned something unless.

I, is stock broking the correct verb form of that noun?

I just made that up, I did. Stock brokerage. I don't know.

This is my, I'm really excited about potentially learning a new word.

Do not let me be your guide on this. I literally was like, I got to make this an I-N-G verb just to kind of keep the

cadence of the sentence going. But I don't know, I don't know that I've ever heard it even

say that before. Well, I thought it was great. And I am going to track this down. I don't know

if it is stock broking, stock brokering stock. Right. There's options.

Brokering stock sounds right to me.

It might be right.

But if you're a stock broker, it stands to reason that you could stock broker verb form.

But anyway, I don't want to derail the conversation.
